About this tool
Drop in a video file you own and extract its soundtrack as MP3 or WAV without uploading anything. Decoding uses your browser's media engine; MP3 encoding runs locally with a lazily-loaded encoder.
How to use it
- Drop a local video file (MP4/WebM, MOV where supported).
- Choose MP3 bitrate or lossless WAV.
- Press Convert and watch progress — cancel anytime.
- Download the audio file.
Good to know
- Only files your browser can decode are supported — DRM-protected or unusual codecs will be rejected with an explanation.
- Very long videos are limited by device memory; close other tabs for best results.
- This tool does not download from YouTube or streaming platforms — only local files you provide.
Frequently asked questions
Are my videos uploaded anywhere?
No. Decoding and encoding happen entirely in your browser tab — the file never leaves your device.
Which input formats are supported?
Whatever your browser can decode: MP4 (H.264/AAC) and WebM work almost everywhere; MOV/M4V work in browsers with support (Safari and most Chromium builds). Unsupported files show a clear error instead of failing silently.
What quality do I get?
You choose 128, 192 or 256 kbps MP3 (via a locally-loaded encoder), or lossless WAV for maximum fidelity. Bitrate only affects size after extraction — it cannot restore quality lost in the source.
Can I convert YouTube videos?
No — this tool only processes video files you already have and are authorized to use. It cannot download from YouTube or any streaming service.
